We’ll enjoy a comprehensive exploration of Almaty, Kazakhstan’s former capital and cultural heart, on a city tour designed to balance history, local life and engaging experiences. Travel comfortably by private vehicle with your English-speaking guide.
We’ll visit Panfilov’s Park with Zenkov’s Orthodox Cathedral, Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame and the Museum of Kazakh Folk Musical Instruments. Continue with the Green Bazaar and also visit the Independence Monument at Republic Square.
Later, proceed to Kok-Tobe Hill, the city’s most famous viewpoint, to enjoy sweeping panoramic views and a beautiful sunset overlooking Almaty.

After breakfast, we’ll drive 16km from the city to the Alma-Arasan gorge and have an easy hike to Maiden's Tears waterfall along the gorge. Bathing in the hot springs (optional). Continue to Ayusai gorge and explore local waterfall. Drive back to Almaty in the afternoon.

Today we’ll head to Medeu, the famous high-altitude skating rink set in a valley of Ili Alatau Mountains. Continue onward to Shymbulak Mountain Resort, where fresh alpine air, open views and time outdoors provide a refreshing contrast to the city. There is free time to walk around, enjoy the scenery or relax at a café.
After lunch we will continue to a falconry experience, offering insight into one of Central Asia’s oldest traditions. Learn about the art of hunting with birds of prey, watch skilled falconers demonstrate their techniques and observe majestic eagles and falcons up close while hearing about their cultural significance to the nomadic Kazakh people.

After breakfast, depart Almaty by private vehicle with your English-speaking guide for a full-day excursion to the spectacular Charyn Canyon, one of Kazakhstan’s most impressive natural landmarks. The drive takes approximately 3 hours each way, covering a distance of around 200 km one way through scenic steppe landscapes and wide-open countryside.
Upon arrival, explore the dramatic formations of Charyn Canyon, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of Central Asia.” Walk along the famous Valley of Castles, where towering red rock cliffs shaped by wind and water create a striking and otherworldly landscape.
Continue to Kolsai National Park. Visit Kolsai Lakes – "Pearls of the Northern Tien-Shan" – cascade of the three lakes. The lowest, Grand Kolsai Lake is the largest and can be reached by car, we’ll walk there for an hour.

A Central Asian nation and former Soviet republic, landlocked Uzbekistan is the proud home to spellbinding architecture and ancient cities that have been overlooked for many years.
Its centuries-long history under Persian rule and as a key stop on the Silk Road left a rich cultural and architectural legacy, made all the more fascinating by the country’s time as an enclave of the Soviet Union.
Upon clearing immigration and customs, the representative will be waiting at the airport meeting area for your transfer to the hotel.

Tashkent, a charming mish mash of austere Soviet-style buildings and classical Russian architecture, has a long history of 2,200 years and has been the capital of Uzbekistan since 1930.
We’ll go on a half-day city tour, starting by exploring the narrow winding streets of the Old Town. This area is home to Barakkhan Madrasah, Tillya Shaykh Mosque, Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum and the Library of Islamic Literature.
Under a giant dome, we’ll find a delightful slice of city life in the traditional Chor-Su Bazaar. It’s also a great place to buy souvenirs, watch Uzbek bread baking and taste many national dishes in between the numerous food rows.
In the modern part of the city we’ll visit Mustakillik Square. We’ll even take a ride on the vibrant, arty Tashkent Metro. The tour of Tashkent ends at Amir Temur Square, established on the intersection of two ancient trade roads in the heart of the city.

A morning flight (07:30 – 09:00) will take us to Urgench, followed by a 40-minute drive to Khiva.

A visit to this 6th century walled city is like travelling back in time. It is a city of colour thanks to the navy, indigo and cerulean ceramic tiles embedded in the ochre walls of many of the buildings.
We’ll walk the labyrinth of sand-laden alleyways to find the Juma Mosque whose roof is supported by 213 unique columns of 10th century elm; Tash Hauli, the main palace of Khiva rulers and Pakhlavan Mahmud Mausoleum, an open-air mausoleum.

Today, we’ll continue discovering Khiva’s architectural treasures with visits to Muhammad Amin Khan Madrassah, Kalta Minor Minaret, Kunya Ark, Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrassah, Islam Khodja Minaret, and Shirgazi Khan Madrassah. Take time to explore the city at a relaxed pace, soaking in its timeless beauty and history.

After breakfast we’ll set off on a road trip of six to seven hours to Bukhara. The drive takes us through the red sands of Kyzylkum Desert, the 15th-largest desert in the world. It’s a dry and desolate, yet beautiful area, populated by nomadic tribes. We’ll have stops to stretch our legs on the bank of the Amudarya River.
Upon arrival in Bukhara, time at leisure.

Bukhara is an oasis city, located right in the middle of the desert. Once located on the Great Silk Road, Bukhara is one of the oldest cities in the world – its history exceeds 2.500 years.
We will visit the Mausoleum of Samanids, the Bolo Hauz Mosque, the Ark Citadel, the Ulugbek Madrasa, the Poi Kalon Complex and Lyabi Hauz Square.

We will explore the surroundings of Bukhara and visit the Chor Minor Madrassah, Sitorai Mokhi Khosa – the summer residence of the last Emir of Bukhara, and the Baghautdin Nakhshbandi Mausoleum – center of Sufism.
We’ll also visit the center of oriental miniature at the outskirts of the city.
In the afternoon, we’ll board the train for the 1.5 hour ride to Samarkand.

No name is as evocative of the Silk Road as Samarkand, which lies at the crossroads of the silk trading route through Europe and Asia.
We’ll visit the awe-inspiring restored madrassas standing on three sides of the iconic Registan Square: Ulughbek Madrassah, Sher-Dor Madrassah and the gold-covered Tillya-Kari Madrassah.
Other highlights include the Bibi Khanym Mosque with its ocean-blue domes and exquisite carvings and the Shakhi Zinda Necropolis, which contains monuments dating back between 500 to 1000 years. We’ll also visit the Gur Emir Mausoleum and the Ulughbek Observatory with its interesting underground passages.
In the evening, we’ll visit Khovrenko Winery and have degustation of wine produced there.

We’ll continue seeing the sights of Samarkand today. There’s the ancient settlement and museum of Afrosiab, and the Tombstone of Saint Daniyar – the restored tomb of the Old Testament prophet Daniyar (Daniel).

Today we’ll have a two-hour drive to Shakhrisabz – hometown of Amir Timur, also known as Tamerlane. In Shakhrisabz we will explore the remains of magnificent Timur’s palace – Ak Saray. Continue to Kok-Gumbaz Mosque founded by Timur’s grandson Ulugbek, and Dorus-Saodat Mausoleum – Timurids family tomb.
